Why do Mondays exist?

There's no worse day of the week than Monday is there? Especially after all those bank holidays, and especially if you've had a great weekend that felt way too short!

My weekend was great, my friend Jessa had an amazing garden party on Saturday night that was out of this world, and I spent all of Sunday recovering!

It was her sister's 21st, so she took over her parents lovely big house, and turned the garden into a huge, very stylish party. It was decked out with decorations and plants, and ever the eco-warrior, these cute garden solar lights rather than tube lights or candles!

Jessa's boyfriend is in a rock band, so she got them to play an acoustic set of cover songs that everyone loved and danced around to, especially after a few glasses of punch...

I can't believe she managed to put together such an amazing night, a professional party planner would be green with envy! Maybe she's found her true calling!

Getting back behind the wheel...

I'm sick of being the only non-driver in what seems like the entire world! I started lessons a fair while back when I was a student, but I lost interest and they were pretty expensive so I gave up!

Now I feel like I really need to just get on with it! I hate filling out application forms for jobs that ask if you have a driver's license and having to check the 'No' box. Even if it has no relevance to the job, it makes me feel like a child!

So I'm biting the bullet and getting back behind the wheel. And as I'm pretty low on cash at the moment I've taken out one of those payday loans with Wonga.com so I can start right away - no time like the present!

Hopefully soon I'll be like this:

Then I can try and talk my boyfriend into letting me borrow his car...

TACKLING MY CV

This week I have really tried to make a big effort to improve my CV. I am currently trying to look for 3d animation jobs and so need to make my CV stand out.

I was told to not make it look OTT so I have made it stand out with bold text but not out loads of colour on it in case it makes it look childish.

I have quite a lot of work experience so I have this time put it at the top of the page to try and promote that a bit better. Every employer wants as much experience as possible.

I just hope these changes actually get me an interview or even just a response! It is so disheartening when I don’t even get an email back. Most of my friends from my University course are having the same problem. It is a tough market out there at the moment!

My dream job would be making characters for Pixar! I could end up designing the next Nemo!

Should Deep Tissue Massage Be This Painful?

My friend and I spent a day at the spa last week, which was glorious - relaxing skin treatments, lounging in the sauna and a choice of massage therapies.

I'd been feeling a bit creaky lately so I thought I'd opt for a deep tissue massage to really get in deep and loosen up my stiff muscles.

The masseuse was lovely, but they really do mean it when they call it a 'deep tissue' massage! I thought it might be quite intense but still relaxing, but I wouldn't suggest this for anyone with a low pain threshold - ouch!

It started off quite nicely, firm but bearable, but soon went on to some really high pressure application, which was much more uncomfortable. I hadn't had a massage in a while so I didn't complain - I figured the harder the massage the more results, right?

Well it's been almost a week and I'm still bruised on my lower back, my legs are still achy and I'm calling out for a stairlift to help me get up to my bedroom!

Maybe when the pain's gone I'll feel the results, but next time I think I'll definitely go for a lighter massage option!

The Dream Garden Accessory

Sunbeds, sheds, palm trees, Bird Tables and decking – who cares! The only thing I want in my garden is a hot tub!

Imagine! Just nipping out into the garden after work with a glass of wine or even champagne and chilling out in the tub. Heaven!

I could invite my friends over and we could just sit in there until we prune over. And for the winter you can even buy a little summerhouse to cover it so you can still use it and won’t freeze too much getting in and out.

There is only one problem though. And it is only a tiny matter – honestly! The one I want cost £3,283! Well maybe it’s a big problem!

I think I will go out and get a lottery ticket and start dreaming!!
